Biography
JERICHO ROSALES is a film and television actor, singer and producer best known for his performances in Pangako Sa’yo (2000) and Halik (2019).
The acclaimed actor, who first got his big break in 1996 with Eat Bulaga's Mr. Pogi competition, has run the full artista gamut. Comedy and drama, films and TV and music. He's done practically everything there is to do in local mainstream showbiz, and we are so far from 1996, and even though he carries himself with the easygoing friendliness of a celebrity who's used to people sheepishly coming up to them to ask for photos, he's fraught, itching for some sort of change. Jericho Rosales is an award-winning actor with 23 years of experience working in the film and TV industry. His film Alagwa (Breakaway) won the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature and won Rosales an Achievement in Acting Award at the 2013 Guam International Film Festival. The National Commission Culture and the Arts (NCCA) recognized Rosales for his award-winning acting at the 13th Newport Beach Film Festival for his film Subject I Love You.
Aside from capturing massive audiences locally, his televisions shows like Halik (2018-2019) and Pangako Sa’yo (2000-2012) also gained an international following across Asia and Africa.
With clean waters and human rights at the core of his advocacy, Rosales aims to affect change through his production company Inventory Films. He believes that the best way to spark action is through provocative filmmaking that the commercial market can understand and enjoy.
In 2006 he portrayed Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in Pacquiao: The Movie, where he won two Best Actor awards. Two years later he won two more Best Actor awards for his role in the period film Baler, opposite Anne Curtis.
A multi-awarded actor whose recent works include playing the lead on ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime series Green Rose opposite Anne Curtis and his first Hollywood full-length film Subject: I Love You opposite Briana Evigan, for which he won his first Outstanding Achievement Award in Acting from Newport Beach Film Festival.
In 2012, Rosales played the lead role in Alagwa, for which he won Best Actor Trophy at the 36th Gawad Urian Awards and his second Outstanding Achievement Award in Acting at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
Jericho was also included in Yes! Magazine’s Most Beautiful Celebrities as well as the magazine’s list of Top 20 Celebrity Endorsers.
Jericho also has a string of hit solo concerts to his credit, most notable of were his two-night Valentine concert in Teatrino Greenhills titled And I Love Her and Kinse which marked his 15th anniversary in the business.
During November 2020, Rosales began the Ulysses Relief Fund for those affected and displaced by Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco).
When he’s not working, Rosales spends his time surfing and riding motorcycles.
